Knockout Club uses information to create tournaments, let participants vote and show results. This page describes the current application.
Accounts and tournament information
Creating a tournament may create an anonymous session. Organizers sign in with Google before starting a tournament. Supabase handles authentication and stores account information provided by Google, such as your account identifier, email, name and profile image.
We store tournament settings, nominee details, uploaded covers, room codes, participant identifiers and votes. If you are signed in when joining, your participation may be linked to your account.
Cookies and storage on your device
Authentication uses session cookies. Local browser storage remembers your language, participant access tokens and voting choices so you can return to a room. Clearing this storage may remove your access to a guest session or voting room.
No marketing analytics or advertising trackers are installed in the current application.
Who receives information
Supabase processes account information and tournament data. The hosting provider processes requests to serve the application. Google processes sign-in requests when you choose Google sign-in.
Search terms and requests for nominee details are sent to the configured metadata providers: Google Books, Open Library and, for movies and series, TMDB. Loading external covers may reveal your IP address to their image hosts. Provider credits are available from the landing page footer.
People with access to a tournament link and room code can join the room. Tournament information and results are shared through the application, including link previews and champion cards. Treat room codes as access credentials and avoid entering sensitive information in tournament names or nominees.
Retention
Tournaments are scheduled for deletion 90 days after creation, together with their nominees, rounds, participants, votes and uploaded covers. Deletion runs through a scheduled maintenance job; it may be delayed if that job is unavailable. Account records and service logs have separate retention and are not deleted by the tournament cleanup.
Your choices and requests
You can sign out and clear the application’s browser storage. This does not delete server records. You may request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law and any records that must be retained.
